Diet - persistance is the key

Gaining weight requires a steady diet - you should be persistant. The muscles won't be built in one day , and there is no magical bodybuilding diet to pump your muscles in a short time. 5-6 meals per day is the key. You have to keep constant supply of energy and materials to your body, for a steady weight gain , and to achieve this - you have to split your meals into smaller portions, and have them frequently (every 2-3 hours).
Don't forget to never stay hungry - it is an important principle of a good gaining diet.

Gaining clean weight with a diet

You need to keep in mind, that your bodybuilding diet should not add you fat percentage, instead of muscles. For that reason - try reducing simple carbs, like sugar to a minimum. One of the few scenarios, when sweet things fit into weight gain diet , is after workout, when you have to refill the supplies of glycogen ("dense sugar", that is stored in the liver) . Otherwise, it will be restored from our newly-gained muscles, which is not something we want.
Have your carbs after workout, and about 2 hours before it (so you'd have the energy for a great workout), but skip them before the night - those carbs will be saved by your body, as fat.
